Big Brother alum Tyler Crispen is great at surprises — like revealing he just got engaged and welcomed his first baby!

“The best secret of all time,” Crispen, 29, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, January 14, alongside photos of his newborn daughter, Carter Rae Crispen, who was born on Sunday, January 12. “Your mama and I love you more than anything in this world.”

Crispen, who came in as runner up on season 20 of the CBS reality series, called his daughter “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”  While he did not reveal the identity of the mother, he did surprise his followers further by referring to his partner as his “fiancée” while thanking his loved ones for their continued support. He also shared a small polaroid of the duo, labeling it, “Mom & Dad!”

“My fiance’ (oh yeah, double surprise) wanna thank all of our close friends & fam for helping us keep this little secret and showering her and us with all the love,” he continued. “I am the luckiest guy on the planet.”

Many former Big Brother stars started families after leaving the CBS show. Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson, who sparked a showmance in season 19, announced in September 2018 that they were expecting their first child together. (Nickson welcomed his daughter Paisley with a previous partner in 2012.) Graf gave birth to their first daughter, Maverick, […]

He added, “PS. Have you ever seen a harder launch?”

The reality star also added photos of Carter via his Instagram Stories, calling her as “My Everything,” and adding “Girl Dad” to his bio.

Crispen’s fellow Big Brother alums quickly took to his comments section to congratulate him on his array of exciting news. Season 21 runner-up Holly Allen wrote, “This is the way to launch 👏 That smile on the last pic is too cute. Congrats!!!” while Dana Briones added, “Tyler! Congratulations. Girls are the besssstt. So happy for you three!! 🩷🩷🩷.”

Earlier this month, Crispen spoke briefly about his new romance while appearing on the “The Exclusive With Sharon Tharp” podcast, sharing what went behind the decision to keep his relationship out of the spotlight.

“It’s just something we spoke about early on. If anything it just strengthens the connection because it can be hard for someone that is in the public eye to be with someone that’s not,” he explained. “And I remember how difficult it was for me to be thrust into that at first. It’s crazy to go from hearing opinions about yourself from your friends and family to going on the show, you come out, and you hear opinions being thrown at you 24/7 on a large scale. It’s not easy to deal with.”

Crispen was previously engaged to his Big Brother costar Angela Rummans. The pair sparked a showmance in 2018 and eventually bought a home together in South Carolina. In January 2021, Crispen proposed  during a beach getaway.

“You make every day seem like a dream come true and I am now officially the luckiest person on the face of the Earth,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “I’ll love you to infinity and beyond.”

The duo eventually called it quits after four years together in December 2022. Crispen later addressed the split, telling Us Weekly exclusively that the exes would always be “friends.”

“I am not a big believer in burning bridges because she was such a big part of my life and I don’t want to have to look back on those memories and have a sour taste in my mouth,” he explained. “She’ll always have a special place with me, and I think she knows that. I think maintaining a friendship with his exes is OK, everybody. It can work out.”
