Job Summary:

The School
of Marketing, Analytics, and Design invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Teaching position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the School Head.

Appointment
at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; however, appointment at a promoted rank may be considered depending upon the qualifications
of the successful candidate.

Primary teaching responsibilities will include delivering undergraduate and/or graduate courses in
product and merchandising management and related fields (e.g., marketing, design). Scholarly activities are expected to result in
publications and academic engagement necessary to maintain Scholarly Active status under College of Business policy. Service includes
engaging in appropriate activities within the College, University, and the profession (including professional societies), contributing to
College and University strategic initiatives, and enhancing student and faculty experiences in the product and merchandising management
profession.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching
– primary teaching duties include teaching courses in Oregon State Universitys Product and Merchandising Management
program in-person, online and/or hybrid format. Teaching should contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts, such as: providing
mentoring and opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds; enabling the advancement of diverse perspectives; and promoting
equitable outcomes for all learners.

18% Scholarly – activities are expected to result in publications
that advance knowledge or improve accounting practice.

10% Service – engagement in activities, both in
the University and the profession, that contribute to the College and University strategic initiatives and/or support DEI efforts fostering an inclusive academic environment.

What You Will Need

Minimum
Qualifications for All Ranks:

  • A doctorate degree in merchandising management, retailing, consumer sciences, apparel, product
    management, or marketing or other related area of expertise.
  • Evidence of effective delivery of product and merchandising management
    courses or courses in related fields at the University-level.
  • Evidence of an active research agenda that demonstrates the potential
    to achieve Scholarly Active status consistent with
  • College of Business policy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational equity
    and a commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives.

For the Associate
Professor (Teaching) rank, applicants must also show evidence of:

  • 5 years of full-time experience working as a faculty member
    at the university level
  • An appropriate record of scholarship, including continuous maintenance of Scholarly Active status as defined
    in the
  • COB Faculty Handbook
  • Sustained effectiveness in teaching, advising, service and other
    assigned duties.

For the Full Professor (Teaching) rank, applicants must show evidence of:

  • 10 years of
    full-time experience working as a faculty member at the university level
  • Distinction and sustained effectiveness in teaching,
    advising, service and other assigned duties, curricular development, awards and recognition
  • An appropriate record of scholarship,
    including continuous maintenance of Scholarly Active status as defined in the COB Faculty
    Handbook
  • Exemplary institutional and professional service, and an appropriate balance between the two.

What We Would
Like You to Have

  • Record of demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Experience in course design and full course management at
    the university level, including delivery in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with industry
    professionals and enhance alumni engagement to support strategic institutional goals
  • Product and merchandising management industry
    experience
  • Demonstrated capability in supporting and enhancing program excellence through teaching, administration, or
    service.
  • Experience delivering a wide variety of product and merchandising management courses at the undergraduate or graduate
    levels, particularly in the areas of merchandising management, fashion forecasting, merchandise planning and control, retail and
    merchandising analytics, and/or store design and visual merchandising
  • Experience at the rank of Assistant Professor at the
    university level
  • A record of research and academic engagement necessary to achieve Scholarly Active status consistent with College
    of Business policy.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Teaching assignments may include course delivery in any
format -site-based in-person, asynchronous online, or hybrid combinations of online, site-based in-person, and/or remote
instruction.
