Assistant/Associate Professor in Creative Industries

The School of Communication & Creative Industries is seeking a dynamic and experienced academic
professional for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Creative Industries. The successful
candidate will specialize in Media Business, Arts Management, Design Management, the Music Industry, Fashion Industry, Events and
Live Entertainment, preparing students for careers in these rapidly evolving sectors. This role involves developing industry-relevant
curricula, engaging in research, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in the creative industries.

Key
Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:

  • Deliver undergraduate courses in
    Creative Industries with a focus on:

    • Media Business and Entrepreneurship
    • Design Management
    • Music Industry and
      Management
    • Event Planning and Live Entertainment
    • Arts Marketing and Arts Management
    • Digital Media Distribution
      and Marketing
    • Creative Industries Law and Policy
    • Develop and update course materials to align with industry trends and
      technological advancements.
    • Supervise and mentor students in research, internships, and industry projects.

Industry Engagement & Experiential Learning:

  • Foster partnerships with media, art market, music,
    and event industry professionals to enhance student learning opportunities.
  • Organize guest lectures, workshops, and industry
    panels with experts in music, arts, events, and media business.
  • Support students in developing industry-standard portfolios and
    business models.

Research & Scholarship:

  • Conduct and publish high-quality research in
    media business, arts marketing and management, music industry studies, event management, and live entertainment.
  • Seek external
    research funding and engage in interdisciplinary projects.
  • Present research at academic and industry conferences.

Service & Administration:

  • Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation processes.
  • Participate in university committees and community outreach initiatives.
  • Support student recruitment and program development
    efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • For Assistant Professor:

    • A PhD in Media Business, Arts Marketing, Arts Management, Music Industry Studies, Event Management, or a closely related field from an
      accredited institution.
    • Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Prior university-level teaching
      experience preferred.

  • For Associate Professor:

    • A PhD in Media Business, Arts Marketing,
      Arts Management, Music Industry Studies, Event Management, or a related field.
    • A strong record of peer-reviewed research
      publications.
    • A minimum of five years of teaching experience at the university level.
    • Experience in academic leadership,
      curriculum development, industry engagement, and international projects is preferred.

Preferred
Qualifications & Skills:

  • Expertise in media business models, arts marketing, arts management, music production
    and distribution, and event planning.
  • Strong industry connections within the creative industries sector.
  • Experience in
    digital platforms and emerging technologies in media and entertainment.
  • Ability to mentor students in entrepreneurial and start-up
    initiatives.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks in media, art market, and entertainment industries.
  • Strong
    communication and teamwork skills.

Strong experience in international (or global) collaborations/projects
