Essential Function 1: Learning Design Implementation

Supporting Activities:
Operating within a multi-discipline environment, implementation of learning design, support and enhance courses and programs for distance and multimodal learning at CMI.

  • Execution of course storyboards
  • Provide support to reaching staff and students as required for distance and multimodal course delivery.
  • Support Content Specialists’ compliance with copyright procedures regarding the use of audio/visual, printed and online materials for incorporation in distance and multimodal learning courses by:
    • establishing and maintaining a working knowledge of copyright law applying to the college;
    • Maintaining a record of the use by CMI of copyrighted material from sources outside the college.
  • Copy editing (online, electronic, print and multimedia materials).
    • content from the LD and content specialist and undertake proofreading
    • collaborate with the content specialist and LD on editorial matters which affect the learning design elements of course design and enhancement:
    • Support the maintenance of house style consistency and check for internal consistency of presentation and facts;
    • Support the maintenance of publishing conventions (such as referencing style, use of abbreviations, punctuation and so on) and that they are appropriately complied with and used consistently.
  • Compiling results of the student and teacher evaluations, program evaluation and course maintenance.
  • Exploring innovative educational technology for the effective delivery of distance and multimodal courses and programs.
  • Submit tickets to e Think in relation to the CMI Learning Management System (LMS)

Essential Function: Project Manager

Supporting Activities:


Project management support for the implementation of learning design, support and enhancement of distance and multimodal courses and programs.

  • Planning and scheduling learning design implementation for distance and multimodal courses and programs.
  • Supporting content specialist and LDs when executing course storyboards with adequate support and in keeping with timelines.
  • Drawing up work plans and process reporting to LD on the development progress of FL courses and programs.
  • Monitoring and maintaining records of the implementation and enchantment of FL courses and programs.

Essential Function 3: Training

Supporting Activities:
In Collaboration with the LD, assists with the development and delivery of training workshops for CMI staff and faculty in the areas of course development, Moodle and ancillary learning systems.

Essential Function 4: Professional Enhancement

Supporting Activities:
In collaboration with LDs, will focus on incorporating good practice models from other established educational institutions and relevant literature and adapting them to suit the CMI context for enhancing distance and multimodal learning at CMI. This role requires continuous up-skilling and knowledge acquisition of current trends in distance and multimodal learning in higher education

Professional enhancement in the following field will enable a much more systematic and quality-driven development of distance and multimodal learning experiences. Priority areas. although not exclusive may include:

  • enhancing learning and teaching in distance and multimodal learning;
  • enhancing learning/ instructional/ course design;
  • access and equity in Higher Education;
  • innovations in distance and multimodal learning;
  • exploring new methods of content design, delivery and enhancement; e
  • using and/or adapting developments in IT to enhances course and program design;

Open educational resources and practices.

Required Qualification:
* Bachelor’s degree preferably in Education or Information Systems or relevant education technology areas or AS or AB with extensive experience or Bachelor degree with up to 5 years’ experience.
* Ability to communicate clearly with both
verbally and in writing in English.
* Proficient IT skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Education or Information Systems or relevant education technology areas.
  • Experience as part of e-learning/instructional design team.

Essential Duties:

From Salary: $17,100

To Salary: $28,500
