The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking a Graduate Affairs Manager.
The Graduate Affairs
Manager is responsible for the administrative procedures associated with all graduate affairs within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS). The position works closely with the Associate Dean for the
Arts and Humanities and Associate Dean for the Natural, Mathematical, and Social Sciences, and on tasks that directly relate to
collaborations with the Graduate College. This position advises collegiate and departmental leadership on complex graduate policies and
procedures, incorporating new and enhanced systems on an ongoing basis. The ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, is an
integral part of this position which interacts frequently with units across campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advises collegiate and departmental leadership on complex graduate policies and procedures including but not limited to academic
progress, employee labor relations, fellowships and awards, and overall academic standards. - Manages TA allocation process. Advises
and recommends changes to processes and funding. With CLAS Finance, manages graduate assistant budget. - In consultation with
Associate Deans, proposes, implements, and evaluates collegiate graduate policies and procedures. - Facilitates communication between
the Dean’s Office and all units, as well as other administrative offices on campus, including communication regarding academic policies as
it relates to graduate affairs. - Serves on internal CLAS committees, including the graduate support staff committee and as a liaison
with the Graduate Education Policy Committee (GEPC). - Creates and manages data-informed decisions that provide solutions to existing
and future problems by developing and analyzing metrics, dashboards, and reports. Uses the data in an audit capacity to make improvements
where needed and create new best practices to be shared with collegiate and departmental leaders. - Provides feedback to departments
and CLAS Senior Leadership Team on processes in order to align the program/project outcomes with Dean expectations and standards.

Education Required:
- Master’s degree or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of administrative
experience. - Demonstrates extensive experience in application of policies, particularly in a higher educational setting.
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques, and processes for gathering, reporting, and disseminating data using
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.); extensive experience using Zoom or other remote applications for remote
collaboration. - Record of demonstrating a high level of integrity, dependability, discretion, and confidentiality in conducting job
responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to address complex and sensitive administrative matters with diplomacy and effectiveness. - Demonstrated effective oral and written communication; demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and build strong professional working
relationships. - Demonstrated extensive experience managing multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, using
effective judgement to prioritize work and resource allocation and navigate conflicting deadlines. - Demonstrated strong attention to
detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in an
academic setting. - Experience with higher ed programming and/or the day-to-day operations at the graduate level.
